Master Your Mix
CUT yOUR INSTALL TIME IN HALF
Unmatched Quality and Capacity for Self-Leveling
A Minnesota installer, JJ’s Floor Covering and Coating, gave us his first impressions of the Mega Hippo directly after finishing a 12,000 square foot self-leveling pour in less than half the time he had budgeted. This eclipsed JJ’s previous experience with buckets, modified rover barrels with mounted motors, and even a pump. With a goal of reliability and quality – the Mega Hippo offered a new alternative to deliver on jobs small and large. Get an estimated time savings for your next job below.

MATERIAL COMPATABILITY
The Mega Hippo can safely mix polyaspartics, polyesters, epoxies, MMA’s, urethanes, cement-based coatings, water-based coatings, acrylics, and more. If it can flow through your fingers when mixed, it is compatible with our mixing station. Because of this, the Mega Hippo can mix the widest range of materials mixer in the world.
How DID Efficiency Affect the Bottom Line FOR JJ'S FLOOR COVERING?
BUDGETED FOR DAYS
FINISHED BY LUNCH
12,000 SQ FT.
JJ’s Floor Covering and Coating were faced with a 12,000 square foot self-leveling job at a casino in northern Minnesota.
2 dAYS TO COMPLETE
In many cases, the self-leveling work is just the substrate for a final flooring installation. Using a slow method with plenty of room for error can massively impact when that final floor gets installed. Many materials take around 16 hours to cure before installing flooring on top – so eating into a second or third day adds almost an entire additional work day before you can get the floor completed.
FASTER = HIGHER
PROFIT MARGIN
Completing a job well under the quoted time with a more efficient tool means that you are making more money, keeping your team healthy, and most importantly – getting home earlier. No client or team member is going to be upset that they had a more efficient, higher quality tool for the job that got them out faster.
*Figures are an example based on real life approximations, install times will always vary based on the product being mixed, the team installing, and how they make use of the tools available.

HOW DO other MIXING OPTIONS COMPARE?
BUCKETS OR BARRELS
Both of these are highly inefficient. While cheaper and some may cling to these as their known method to get the job done, the hard truth is that they are wasting time, effort and ultimately money. A barrel is slightly better than a bucket, but still suffers from a few issues like a non-fluid dynamic shape that leaves users fighting against it for a proper, manufacturer-intended mix. Our mixing stations were originally designed to correct the issues of common buckets and barrels at the request of manufacturers when they observed their products applied incorrectly. Additionally, the labor of carrying a bucket or barrel vs an ergonomically designed transport and pour function of a mixing station is something that cannot be understated. Your back will thank you later.
PUMPS
The ouput of a pump is the only true competitor to a mixing station like the Mega Hippo, but it is not without a few major flaws. First of all, the cost is the opposite of buckets or barrels – it’s significantly more expensive, but the primary flaw comes back to limiting points of failure. Water supply, pump motor, seals, consistent flow, hose lines and connectors, and power supply are all significantly more crucial when using a pump system and issues with any of them will be catastrophic on your job site. The simplicity of a mixing station that allows you to increase your mix size, while limiting failures that can occur on site is something that you can rely on for jobs of any size. The other issue that users have directly told us repeatedly is that pumps are quantity over quality and it’s easy to see in the final pour.
